Marc Jordan has it covered on his upcoming album Both Sides.
The award-winning and prolific Canadian singer/songwriter will unleash a newly minted collection of chilled out romantic contemporary jazz arrangements of popular songs by some of his favourite composers, along with previously unreleased original compositions. Jordan’s first new solo album in six years, Both Sides is set for release on April 5 via Linus Entertainment.
Recorded with the Prague Symphony, and featuring Randy Brecker, Lou Pomanti, Marc Rogers, Kevan McKenzie and Mark Lalama, Both Sides is a tour de force into Jordan’s coveted contact list and dynamic skill set.
The nine-track release takes a page from the classic American songbook and features hits like The Nearness of You and What Are You Doing The Rest of Your Life sprinkled among Joni Mitchell’s Both Sides Now and Lou Reed’s Walk On The Wild Side, which you can hear below. Both cool and modern, Both Sides features some of Jordan’s best vocal performance.
With numerous ASCAP, Juno, SOCAN and Smooth Jazz awards to his credit, Jordan’s work has appeared on more than 35 million albums. He’s written for and with Diana Ross, Chicago, Kansas, Manhattan Transfer, Kenny Loggins, Amanda Marshall, Bette Midler, Natalie Cole, Roch Voisine, Canadian Tenors, Shawn Colvin, Olivia Newton-John, Joe Cocker, Bonnie Raitt, Josh Groban, Cher, Rod Stewart — including the #1 hit Rhythm of My Heart — and his wife, singer-songwriter Amy Sky.
